Pagibaximab binds to all

staphylococci tested and promotes

ingestion and killing of the

bacteria by white blood cells. Pre-

clinical studies have shown that

the antibody provides protection in

relevant animal models replicating

the worst-case infection scenario

in the premature baby. In

addition, studies have shown that

it also binds to enterococci and

group A streptococci, that express

a common LTA in their membrane.
