The cost of nosocomial infections from antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the United States is in excess of $4 billion annually. With the rise in antibiotic resistance and increased nosocomial infection rates, a great burden has been placed on the care of the immunocompromised, such as premature newborns, cancer patients, transplant patients, and diabetics. Due to the rise in antibiotic resistance, current treatments and products are becoming less effective against, and creating more resistant strains of, nosocomial pathogens.



Biosynexus is developing a portfolio of products for commercialization for the prevention and treatment of multi-drug resistant staphylococcal infections. The three lead products are Pagibaximab (formerly BSYX-A110) Lysostaphin and Nisin.

All products have undergone extensive pre-clinical research with excellent results. Pagibaximab has completed Phase IIa human clinical trials. Lysostaphin has completed Phase I/II human clinical trials.
